:I picked up a Sears and Roebuck Silvertone radio model #2511 and need a manual to attempt trying to get it to work.
If the radio is dead on all bands, look to see if there is a "Phono" switch on the radio (some of that vintage did), make sure the switch is set to "Radio". Check the power supply to see if you are getting a voltage out of the transformer, and beyond the filter cap- But, if there is voltage present, and the "AC/Batt" switch is in the correct position for the power source you are using- If there is a plug for an external low voltage power plug in, plug and unplug a connector into it while spraying some tuner cleaner, or drip a drop or two of "Rail Zip" onto the contact point of the part that gets pushed aside by the connector when the connector is removed- if this corrodes, the radio is dead for all practical purposes and is a "tough find".
