What do the letters "PLN" represent on a electrolytic capacitor can? Thanks!

Hi,
It could be the manufacturer, or it could be the "series" identifier (for packaging, temp range, specific designed application, etc).

If the lettering is on the plastic wrapper, and one of the leads of the capacitor is identified as either "+" or "-", and there is no other lettering to indicate manufacturer, it is going to be one or the other description above.

Hi

How about "plain". Metal electrolytic cap cans usually have symbols on the terminals. Marked with diamond, half circle and no mark (plain).

Yes. since the electrolytic can had a square, semi-circle, and triangle, the "PLN" must stand for PLAIN.
