Old radio parts
7/25/2003 10:42:10 PMRichard O
I have a lot of resistors (fixed and variable), capacitors, tubes, switches, etc. from the early 1920s and on. Any advice on how to go about researching them for more specific identity or purpose, possible value or disposition of these items, etc. would be appreciated. I hate to just junk everything.

These are among a lot of items left from my father who was a radio builder in those years. I recall him telling me some years ago, there weren't all that many good commercially built, and affordable, radios to meet the demand. A lot towns would have one to several persons who had shops to build and repair and meet the local needs.

The parts could be very valuable to certain radio collectors, problem is how to let them know you have these parts. I would suggest an auction venue such as ebay, etc. as a lot of the collectors frequent these sites. The auction process will determine the best price.
