Those coupling caps can be a problem in these TV's. Shouldn't use ceramic as they have their own problems.

:I have an old Silvertone model 9115 (late 40's vintage) giving me fits. Audio is fine, it has electrostatic deflection and requires a 2nd anode voltage of about 5kv, I think. The video is extremely dim and does not fill the screen. The left and right margins are about 1 inch high and the middle is around 3 inches, i.e. the video is "humped in the middle". All tube voltages are in spec. except for the grid of the vertical multivibrator (its 0v vs. the required
:-9v) I haven't measured the high voltage but it will maintain an arc to ground about 1/8" long. I've replaced tubes and recapped nearly everywhere except the .005 microfarad, 6KV caps feeding the deflection plates. I assume the incorrect grid voltage is preventing the screen from filling out? Not sure if HV is high enough, not sure if the 6KV caps could be the problem (can't seem to find replacements). Don't know if I have two problems (dim video and vertical deflection) or if both are due to the same problem. Has anyone seen this type of problem before?
