As time went by radios improved. Less antenna was required and finally no external connections were required.
Too long of an antenna will cause poor selectivity. Several stations may be heard at once.

::Hello, is there any difference between 1920's and 1930's radios antenna's or did they require about the same length wire?

::Hello, I got my radio working. Speaker field coil and 1/2 of output transformer were open. Question is.......can an antenna be too long? I have it running around the ceiling in two rooms. It seems to pick up more stations than my philco 80. Were these things more selective than the 1930's radios?
