hello, im currently working on a zenith 10s464 and found the resistor that is mounted to chassis inside of ametal casing burnt out. i believe the schematic shows it as a two part res, when i ohm it out i get 200ohms. can i replace this with a wire wound res right now all i get is a low hum and i replaced the electrolitics and im starting to replace other caps thank you for info

Hi Manuel

R18 is a 2 section wire wound resistor. One section is 200 ohms & the other 40 ohms. You can use a regular wire wound resistor 5 watts or more.

The 40 ohm section may be open? The section reading 200 ohms is ok.

Norm

:the 40 ohm section is completely burned out. is it normal to get voltage 6.5v on only one of the green wires coming from transformer to ground, but when measured across i get 7.3 on both taps . i checked all tubes and they are all ok and i continue to get a hum which gets louder as i touch the tone cont wires is it posible something is shorted? thank you manuel
