Franklin Radio Corp. Model C-101?
4/20/2003 1:35:10 PMMark
Greetings,
I reently came acroos this unit, thinking it would be a nice piece for my mom who collects antiques. I do not know much of anything about antique radios, but the more I look for info on this model the less I find??? I see schematics for (similar, but not exact) Franklin's online, but that's about all I have seen. I did find one picture of the one I have, it was grouped with a Cathedral (as in the manufacturer, not the style - a.k.a. another dead end)
The unit is in working condition - AM/FM, minimal hum - the back is intact with an (original?) Franklin Radio Corporation Model C-101 sticker, only the staples are missing and the anchor for the top screw on the back had to be hot glued as it was broken off. The only other info I have is an address that so far has been of no help in my searches.
Can anyone enlighten me on the origin and value of this piece? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanx...
~Mark

This is whats called a replica radio. Its not really a replica of anything, though.
I had one (I got it for $15) and I don't have anything good to say about it. I reshot the cabinet with toned lacquer and made up a vintage looking dial for it to give it a bit more 'class'.
I suppose in the realm of replica sets its one of the older ones...I think it dates back to the early 1980s, maybe even 70s.
