ceramic disk caps from radio shack

Hello, I was wondering if the ceramic disk caps from radio shack will work in these old radios. The ones that have 500 volt rating.. .0047, .01, .1 ect. are there any drawbacks?

Hi Sean

Ceramic didk caps will be ok except in tuned circuits. Ceramic caps are not as stable with changes in temperature. The values you mention are not in tuned circuits.

:Hello, what would be values that would be in a tuned circuit? Are those in the pf range?

Hi Sean

Yes, usually in pf range. These would be caps around a radio oscillator. If they were ceramic the radio may drift while warming up.
