Hello,
From time to time I work on German radios.
And I’m not sure I understand why some paper capacitors
Have one wire led on one end and two on the other, the capacitors
Are typical bypass paper .01uF 150V there is no other markings.
Please help.

Hi,
From those that I have encountered, it is just effectively a shield over a paper cap that would not ordinarily tie directly to the chassis ground (such as an interstage cap). The single lead then ties to ground and acts as the shield instead of the outer foil.

There have been rare instances where there were actually 2 caps inside with a common ground.
