GRUNDIG SATELLIT PROFESSIONAL 650
3/14/2003 11:38:52 PMKen Meaney
Dear Readers

Recently after returning to Australia after living overseas for a number of years I found that my Grundig "Satellit Professional 650" radio purchased when I was living in Greece in 1991, had been damaged by acid from sub standard batteries unknowingly purchased when I was living in Africa more recently.

The authorised repair agent in Sydney was not interested in helping and I'm sorry to say neither is Grundig Australia nor Grundig Germany. When I took the radio to a repair shop in Canberra where I now live, they seemed reasonably confidant that they can repair the damage (the unit has power but the digital readout and the manual tuner will not work ), however they need a circuit diagram. Can anyone help??.

The sticker inside the battery compartment has the numbers "G. RV-51 Sat. Prof 650. 15053. 605257" The last number appears to be the serial number. (Readers will gather that I'm no technophile)

I 'm quite "attached" to the radio which has served me well for a number of years. Grateful for whatever anyone can do.

Thanks

Ken Meaney

Hi Ken,

I just read your cry for help (18.06.03), do you still need the circuit diagrams?

Here are my suggestions:

a. Try this link, it has the Sat 600 circuit diagrams on-line, for what I know the Sat 600 & Sat 650 were virtually the same:
http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/grundigsatellit/sat600schem.htm

b. There is a bokk available about the Sat 650, includes the Serverice Manual, its called "King of the Satellits Six Five O", available from:
http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/books/0650.html

c. There is a german web site where you can order a copy of the Sat 650 Service Manual, the site is also available in english:

d. Try to get a Sat 650 Service Manual from ebay, will cost about US $30.

Hope this infor helps. If you need any further info / help just email me direct.

Regards
Ron Ingram
