I need to know a couple of things:
Where can you get blank record discs these days so I can test it?
Also, what controls how far the grooves are cut into the acetate and how far apart they are spaced?
If anyone can help, please reply to me e-mail.
Thanks!

I sent you a long-winded email about this subject.
For anyone else looking for a supplier of record cutting
materials, try Transco Products in Linden, New Jersey.
Their phone number is 908-862-0030. Don't be shocked,
the prices for lacquers and styli are relatively high.

The pickup cartridge is also the crystal cutter cartridge on these little jobs. You lift up the rear end of the arm and it engages the cutter lead screw.Half of thre job is getting a cartridge for the pickup.
Now I'm thinking it might be possible for me to actually have the disc fixed so I can hear it!
It's highly unlikely because there are hundreds of little cracks all over the surface, but I
thought I'd give it a try, anyway.
Can you advise me? Do you know of anyone who does this kind of thing?
The disc is marked Wilcox-Gay Corporation, Charlotte, Mich., and the words "Slow
Burning" are visible. Around the centre are the words "Recordio Disc." The date Dec. 9/47 is
written on it in pencil, in what appears to be my hand, but my recollection is my Dad and I
recorded it in December of 1944.
Anyway, if you could advise me I'd be tremendously grateful.

: : I recently bought a Wilcox-Gay Recordette unit on E-Bay. The amps all seem to be in working order. The unit will play back and will probably record.
