Hello everyone, I'm new to the high fi community but I'm already in love with it big time.
My question is: Now that I have aquired a McIntosh 2205 power amp(2 channel)what sort of control unit do I need to control the phono, reel to reel, sub, and etc.

I would check Vacum Tube Valley, Glass Audio, etc to see what they list.

These can give you some ideas of you might want in cosmetics and features, otherwise, unless you encounter a specific proprietary control plug, you could go to the trouble of constructing a multiple input mixer, or multiple input switch for selecting your sound source inputs.

Be aware that if you are using a turntable of newer vintage, you will likely need to add a high gain preamp over and above what is used at line level inputs (about 1 volt p-p)
