Super Pee Wee Schematic
2/14/2003 4:53:26 PMBenny Rhoads (WB5TYZ)
I have a Model 218 Detrola Super Pee Wee. It was the first gift that my Dad gave to my Mother. That was in 1939. I heard it playing about 5 years ago, but won't utter a peep now. The Power Cord needs replaced among other things. What I need is a schematic. I tried to use one of the Rider pages I got off of this site, but after several attempts using different techniques, they all came out too blurred. I can't read the tube numbers on the printout, and 2 tubes on the Radio, have had the numbers rubbed off. Where else can I look? Who handles the Resistor (Ballast) power cord?

Thanks Benny

Hi Benny

A schematic has been sent. Replacement resistor line cords aren't available. Even if you do find an old one it will most likely be brittle.

Resistor values for the line cord are given on the schematic. If you use resistors they need to be 25 watt wire would. They will get hot.

Other ways have been suggested for replacing line cords including capacitors and diode/resistor combinations. Might try sorting through forums on antiqueradios.com?
