Help, I just bought an old record player and wish to know more about it (the date made, etc.) It look like a dome barbecue, base is grey and dome is black. The letter is imprinted at top of dome. Inside it say Saturn. Underneath the base is where you plug your speakers. Other attachment underneath is for a cassette player. Looks like it the real old thing. No reproduction.
Electrohome is all I can find underneath. Thank you

Electrohome is.....er...was, a valid manufacturer of
those devices and seems like their hey-day was back in the early 1970's.....if you want to consider that
OLD. When U mentioned speaker"S" that would not date it prior to 1957-58 which initialized the years of the advent of stereo phonos. By memory I seem to remember a model that was a gray casing with a dark
smoked acrylic top cover and the bottom support pedestal was in the order of a wine goblets base. That
particular rec changer that was used, incorporated a smaller record platter than we are typiclly used to. The external speakers were small black "globes".
If you were to expose the electronics and its internal chassis parts...and they were of American derivation ......it was very common to have date codes on some parts in those days. E.G. if you were to see 71-37 that would be a part of manuf/dating on the 37th week of 1971 , thereby dating your product to the year.
