Pla-Pal

Hi All,
About a year ago I purchased a basket case radio and have had a good time restoring the cabinet. It has a small metal tag on the front that states it is a Pla-Pal. The only information I can find about Pla-Pal is that they made a radio with bar glasses in it. This is a battery set and it has an airplane dial with Broadcast and Amature bands. It has a picture of a Viking ship on the dial. Going by the last patent number I would guess that it was manufactured about 1931. Any history, model number etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello Jim,
I have only one listing for Pla-Pal in Collectors Guide to Antique Radios 5th Edition.
Pla-Pal No #. Table-N, two tone wood, Deco, sides and top open for bar & storage, right front dial, center cloth grill with chrome cut-outs, 2 knobs, BC (AM) AC/DC. $330 to $380 assuming all there and good shape, maybe not working.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the reply. Mine is not the one you described. Possibly there was another company that manufactured under the same name because the only one I can locate is the one you described. The metal tag on the front of my radio that says Pla-Pal appears to have been factory applied but that is the only thing that I have to show that is the brand. Again, Thanks,
Jim
