Sounds like a radio made in Los Angeles by Gilfillan for many companies. These radios bave two tubes mounted on each side with a power transformer in the center, back.
Use the Schematic for Jackson Bell Model 84.

::A little more to add....The 47 tube is actually says G-47 with majestic stamped into the bakelite, The majestic writing is rather neat looking. The 24a(says 224 on socket)and the 80 are on the left side of the chassis front to back. The other 24a(224 also on socket) and the G-47 are on right side of chassis front to back. The dial is green and numbered from 10 to 100. The dial is similiar to the model 80 philco I have in design of radio. The power transformer is mounted horizontally on top rear of chassis. The I.F cans are in the front on both sides of radio chassis(they look round, 2 inches high, 1 and 1/2 wide).

:::A little to add...The tube sockets for the 24a tubes have number 224 on them.

::::I have the radio working almost ok. I did it by cleaning the volume pot and tube sockets, soldering on a new power cord. The real help was when I touched the grids of both of the 24a tubes and the volume got a lot louder on one of the 24a tubes and almost as loud on the other one. The radio sounded like it was missing a bypass cap to ground.....yes I am getting experienced here. ...And what do ya know ...I tried putting a cap to ground on the antenna wire and now the radio plays almost well. But of course someone has been in this radio because I see various caps, 3 of which are .25uf. I would like to get the radio to original cap configuration and value. It also has a 8mfd cap that looks like a match box...never seen one of these before.

::::Hello everyone, I have just bought a universal radio. It has the following tubes...80, 24a, 24a, and a 47. The 47 is a globe tube. All the tubes test very good. The radio doesnt have a model number. So any info on where to get a schematic for it would be apprieciated thanks.
