Philco Model 46-1203

I have a Philco Model 46-1203. It has a lot of 60 cycle hum, and I assume the filer caps are bad, and need replaced. The radio plays, but the phono does not. No sound from it.
Does anyone know what the phono pre-amp tube is? If it needs a cartridge, how do I find one of them?

Thanks,
Dennis Isenberg

Hi Dennis

Your radio uses the same tubes for the radio as it does for phono. The 7C6 is the first audio amplifier for the radio and phono.

The crystal cartridge is most likely bad. You could contact West-Tech Services at 941-471-0922. They sell replacements.

Yes. It was the cartridge. I got it rebuilt at West-Tech for about $20.
I also have located a schematic for it.
Now to work on the hummmmm.
