antenna wires....where do they go
11/20/2002 12:32:17 AMSean Nelson
I have a rogers majestic radio that has two wires for the antenna. The schematic shows one of the wires tied to ground and the other wire going to a coil. The other side of the coil is tied to ground also. There is another coil next to this one so I would guess the signal is inductively coupled to the 34 tube. I would think one of these wires is the antenna(probably the one that goes to the coil, but where does the other one go? Is this wire just another convenient ground wire? My battery operated philco got a lot better reception when I grounded it using the wall outlets ground, so is that what this wire is for. This radio doesnt seem to really need an antenna. When I attach an antenna to it, the volume doesnt seem to get any louder. So is this "coil" like the arial loops on the back of some radios. If anybody can help me, I can email them a copy of the schematic
