I just completed refinishing a Majestic 130-A. It had a black stain (ink?) about the size of a quarter. Also a dark ring from a glass. I was successful in conpletely removing both stains by applying a household bleach solution (50% with water). I used a cotton swab and a toothpick to apply the solution to just the affected area. The wood was quarter sawn mahogany. After the solution lightened the stain, I immediately flushed with water to stop the bleaching process. I had to re-apply additional solution to the black stain to completely remove all traces of the stain.
Prior to working the stain, I stained some mahogany with ink, applieh heat with an iron to simulate age and worked out the proper strength of solution which was about 50% bleach, 50% water.
Good luck.

:I have a philco 40-130 I'm refinishing, not staining just refinishing. The color of the veneer is still in good shape, but there is a black stain on top of the cabinet that appears to have gone through the finish and seeped into the veneer. Does anyone know what may lift some of the stain out? Maybe bleach or ammonia? I don't want to sand and try to rematch the color if I can help it.
:Thanks in advance,
