philco cap 3793-R info

I am trying to replace the caps in this block cap, but I only have data up to 3793-p. The philco bakelite info is from the philco repair bench. It does list it as a .15uf, but I just want to make sure how its wired as I usually end up pulling the leads out of the caps when I remove them.

Hi,
You might look to see if Chuck Scwark included a few of the replacements and newer block types to see if yours is there.

(my bookmarks to those pages are not on this computer)

In the event that yours is not listed, look at the lugs to see which ones had the wire coming out of the rivit hole. If you are using ceramic discs, or stacked polyproylene caps, it will not matter which side went to the ground lug, but if you are using caps that indicate a polarity (outer foil), look at the lug(s) in the vicinity of the screw mounting hole to see if it tabs under that mounting screw- If it does, your outer foil attaches to that lug. If it does not, it should still attach to that lug which was used that was closest to the mounting screw. Just be sure that there was no coil of resistance wire tucked in that one (like some of those blocks have), otherwise you have to find it on the schematic and work from there.
