Hi

Schematic for Philco 46-200 sent. It shows a 35Y4 for rectifier. This tube has the same function as 35Z5 but with different socket and pinout.

Most of the time 35Z5 filaments open. With an ohm meter check continuity between pins #2, #3 and #7 of your tube.

Hi,
To add a little to Norm's response:
Philco Service bulletin #PR-1135 (issued in 1945), which is the factory service info for model 46-200, lists and shows schematics for a 35Z5 rectifier tube for this radio. The identical radio was produced in 1947 as model 47-200. For the 1948 model year, essentially the same radio was marketed as model 48-200, but with a 35Y4 rectifier. However, during 1948 Philco again switched back to the 35Z5 rectifier, and radios produced past that date were termed Model 48-200, Code 121. If you need copies of the Philco Service bulletins for any of the above, send me an email.
