I am working on a 12-H-670 (same year, 1942). For the
longest time I couldn't figure out what the model number
was either but I had the chassis number as you do until
I cleaned it up some more and actually paid attention
to the ink stamp on the case for one of the IF transformers
which clearly states 12H670. I must have noticed that
mark for a couple of weeks before I took the time to
clean it and make sense of it. I was looking everywhere
else for the model number. This is my first antique
radio so I have no idea if this is standard Zenith practice
or not.
