Wards Airline Cabinet Radio.

Hi, I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Wards Airline Cabinet Radio. It is marked WG&C series 1A48. The Cabinet itself is marked WG#063. I have had some help reparing it so it works rather well. I would now like to start to do some repair work on the cabinet. Any information would be appriciated. If anyone can help me identify the year of manufacture, and where I can go to find a catalog/sales picture I would appreciate it. Thanks Mark

Hi Mark

Can you find any other numbers? The radio was made by Well Gardner for Montgomery Ward. It should have two numbers followed by WG and several other numbers.

The first two numbers are usually date code in reverse. 64WG would 1946 made by Wells.

Mark,
I agree with Norm--a little more information is needed to ID the model number of your Airline radio. A typical model number might read "14WG-806A", which would mean a 1941 model manufactured by Wells-Gardner. This number might appear on the paper label containing the tube layout, or might be on a separate label attached to the chassis. If you cannot find the model number, advise us of the tubes your radio contains.
