RCA Victor New Orthophonic High Fidelity

Hello all! I have a RCA Victor New Orthophonic High Fidelity. My mother and I have had it for over 10 years. We're in the process of moving and we started thinking about how much our treasured radio is valued. It's in really good condition except for the broken needle on the turntable. Could anyone give me any advice on how to find out the value and perhaps fix the turntable? Thanks so much. Feel free to email.

The name "New Orthophonic High Fidelity" was used by RCA Victor for its audio products from about 1953 to 1959, when stereo took over. If you need a needle and/or cartridge for your phono, a good source is: www.garage-a-records.com
If you find that your turntable needs other repairs, such new rubber idler wheel, etc., Eager Brother Music in Rochester, NY is a good source.

Sorry I can't help you much on valuation of your set. Hi-fi consoles of this period remain great performers, but often don't have a high market value. They don't fetch much on eBay, for example, due to the cost of shipping. Best advice is to hang onto your set and continue to enjoy it, but if you decide to sell the best place is probably in your local area, especially if you can deliver it.
