Has anyone heard of a Mohawk Lyric radio? I found one at an antique store but didn't buy yet. Any idea where to look in Riders? Is there any value to this thing? Thanks

Hi,
Lyric was made by Wurlitzer, Mowhawk was it's own company prior to 1927. In 1927 They Merged with "All American," and became All American Mowhawk. However, looking at a different refernce, they show a 1933 Cathederal Mowhak/Lyric SA-65, which suggests All American Mowhawk was absorbed by Wurlitzer, or they negotiated a merger of some assets or something else not mentioned in either reference.

If it is a cathederal, there is value. If even a tombstone, it should have some value.

Riders directs Lyric towards, All American Mowhak, and Rauland. A check of Wurlitzer directs one to All American Mowhawk. If there are octal base tubes, it is newer than probably 1936, otherwise if the output tube(s) are 71A, 45, 47, Figure 1933, or a bit older. If the output is 41, or 42, figure between 1933 and 1937.

Mohawk made radios in Canada up until about 1940 when the plant became Crosley. The "Lyric" name was used on over 20 models. If there is a number on the nameplate or at least a list of the tube numbers used in it I may be able to find a schematic and date the radio if it was made in Canada.
