Hi, would anybody know where I could get an output transformer for an Airline 04BR-720A radio. The part no. is BE10596. thank you

Hi Paul

An output transformer needs to match your tube to the speaker. If your radio uses 6F6, 42 or similar output tubes the impedance should be around 7000 ohms primary. Secondary of 8 ohms will be ok. These are not DC resistance readings but rather impedance.

Output transformers can be purchased from AES, tubesandmore.com , Play Things Of Past, oldradioparts.com and others. If unsure what you need list your output tube(s).

:Thanks for the info. The two output tubes are a pair of 35L6GT tubes. The secondary resistance of the old transformer is 8 ohms, the primary is open, the speaker measures 5.8 ohms, the other tubes are two 6sq7, one 6sk7 a 6A8G and A 35Z4GT thanks again, Paul

Hi Paul

A single 35L6 is made to feed into 2500 ohms impedance. If your tubes are used in push-pull you will need a transformer with center tapped primary. A primary impedance of 3000-5000 ohms plate to plate would be ok.

If tubes are in parallel look for a transformer with 2000 ohm or even less primary impedance. 2000 is about the lowest standard available without getting into transistor transformers.

You could use an universal output transformer. They have different taps to select from. Play Things Of Past, oldradioparts.com should have what you need. Use an 8 ohm secondary. These are all impedance ratings. Ohm meter readings will be less.
