Dear sir,

I'm pioneer owner of Stereo Receiver sx-850 . On front panel I press the phono input, and phono/mic input it create loud crackling popp'in noise. I upgrade gold phono input wires and install ground wire with gold terminal. Move ac wires away from speakers and receiver. No result.

I can't listen to turntable because noise interference.

I need a solution to this problem(s)

Thank

Hi,
I forget if that was one of the versions that you could play two turntables off of it, but you even if you had the single turntable only capability, you can switch the preamp that is required for magnetic cartridges out of the circuit, and that could be the main source of your noise. If that is the case, you may just have dirty switch contacts, and you may be switching the phono you are wanting to use out of the circuit by pressing the "phono/mic" selector, and the noise is all that is making its way through the amp. Sometimes you can clean the contacts by operating the switch a number of times with modest force/speed.

I would also check to see if there might not be a problem with the cartridge too, as a lot of those made a lot of noise if both channels happened to go bad.
