I use tissue paper and rubber cement. I put the cement on with a que tip. Other fellas I know use airplane dope - but I like the rubber cement because it has some stretch. You can also use paper from and old speaker cone or kraft paper.
I am not a fan of rubber cement, when I have to perform any gluing on the cone itself, I use a product that is named "Plumbers Goop". It is actually an Eurethane material that is more flexible than rubber cement, stronger than rubber cement, and you can litterally apply it right on the edge of the tear(s) so you use much less of it. Most hardware stores carry it.
::What is the best way to patch a punctured speaker cone. I have a hole about the size of a dime. Is there a material I can use to patch with fingernail polish or is there a better way?
