Need help identifying a Detrola
radio. Looks identical to the Zenith 6s52.
Has three bands, AM plus two shortwave.

Tube line up is something like 117, 80, 75, 42, 42
ands others I can't remember.
Anyway, I also have the serial number from the chasis
but I can not read the model number.

If anyone could help it would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

OK, I think this is the 173EC model.
Anyone have an info on this unit.

Looks similar in tube line up to the
175 ,193 series, but has a 117 tube
for the EYE.

Hi John

Could 117 be a date code? Eye tubes from that time are 6U5, 6E5, 6G5, 6N5, 6AB5. All have 6 pins.

Norm,
Yes, that must have been the date code
or something. It was on a label that
was attached to the tube.
I had thought the 117 type tubes were
rectifiers.

After removing some dirt, I did find
that it is a 6G5.

Do you have any info, or know where I can find
more information on this set?

Thanks for you help
John

Hi John

I would use a similar schematic to check out your radio if you don't have the exact one.

173EC is listed in Collectors Guide to Antique Radios as being built in 1937. It's also known as "Lark" and valed at $115-$135 in Vol #4.
