A friend of mine has an Aircastle, Solid State 8 band radio that his grandfather gave him. He is trying to find out how old this radio is. The serial number is 04631 and the model number is 162F1H. Please let me know what year it was produced.

Aircastle were a brand name for Spiegel Catalog.

Sams had it listed in their TSM1, which dated to 1963, so you can figure probably close to 1963 because that was when the multi-band radios like that started to become popular, especially if it has Connelrad markings.
