I have a chrome Majestic radio. It has a Charlie McCarthy chassis. The radio is concave on the right side and convex on the left (speaker side). The top of the radio has a black handle with a chrome strip running down the middle. The right-front of the radio is is exactly like the Charlie McCarthy but the left side has a semi-circular indentation (about 4" across) with a screw-on clamp. Inside the indentation is a picture of Hedi Lamar and written across her picture are the words "your favorite picture here." At the bottom of the indentation are three holes. An extra light has been added to the chassis to shine through the holes on to the picture. Although the label on the back of the chassis says Charlie McCarthy the place for the model number is missing. Does anyone know what model number this is or anything else about it? Thanks and best regards, Lex
A Majestic, Charlie McCarthy (Model 1) radio is listed in Collectors Guide to Antique Radios. Made in 1938, 6 tubes and valued at $900-$1000.
