An antenna is just a long wire connected to your radio. In those days 50 feet of wire 10 feet or higher would have been ideal. With stronger stations today 20 feet of wire along the floor will work.

: I have two old console radios (1929~1929) and would like to find an atenna for them. I have no idea where to look. When I look under antenna in some general Internet searches, I get junk. Would someone point me in the right direction, please? I could probably build one if I had the plans or some good pictures. Please Help? Thanks
BTY, I did a search on Google's advanced search page:
http://www.google.com/advanced_search
typing in "antique radio" in the exact phrase box, and "antenna" in the find all the words box,
and came up with a number of hits, but mostly for bulletin boards. Other word combinations
such as "radio loop antenna" might yield more results.
Hope this helps.
