I have a 40253 as well! Just got it. Have you found out anything about it since your message posting?
I need the Blaupunkt 'signature' that is glued to the fabric, bottom right front panel. It is plastic. If you've found a source, or still have yours and would be willing to part with it, I would be grateful for any info.
