Sparton Floor Model 99
4/24/2000 10:03:50 PMJeff Lidstone
I have a Sparton floor model radio that was made by Sparton of Canada Ltd in London, Ontario circa 1931.
If anyone has any info about this particular model or where we can get a schematic and find parts for it, I would really appreciate the assistance. It needs to be restored but it is in pretty good shape. Anybody have an idea what it would be worth today?

Model No: 99
Serial No: 990712

Thanks,

Jeff

Have you checked the Rider's online section here on Nostalgia Air (under "Sparks Withington")? Is the number you are looking at; on the tube placement sheet (which may not be present), or on the metal tag near the power supply?
If this the same model as the Rider schematic (sometimes they are not) it will have 4 tubes on the power supply chassis. Chances are good that if the tubes test okay, you would only need to focus on the filter caps in the power supply. If it is a large block (original), you may want to refer to the power supply of the 930 if there are more than 4 leads.

The relatively small value caps (2, 5 and 8 Mfds) have close replacements available from Allied, Digi-Key, Mouser, etc. Use the 450 working volt types. If one of the originals checks bad, replace the block, the others are not long from failure.

Hi Jeff, I have myself a floor model that I almost restored. I bought all the tubes for it via internet.
I found prices very cheep.
The only probleme, is there 3 tubes that I am not quit sure where they go. Therefore, I need the schematic for it.
