Beckley-Ralston TRF Receiver
1/27/1999 8:05:31 PMTim Kilboy
I have a early 20's vintage receiver manufactured by "Beckley-Ralston".

Looking for any information on this manufacturer or other receivers built by them.

I found a Beckley-Ralston catalog for sale on net. Apparently B-R manufactered and/or sold automobile parts in teens and early 20's.

Ring any bells with anyone??

Can't help you with your receiver, but I just bought a very old putter with the Beckley-Ralston stamp on it. I am also looking for any insights into this company. I read somewhere else that they published books in the 20's.

My Grandfather was president of Beckley-Ralston. I knew thaey manufactured sporting goods and auto parts didn't know about radios. My uncle (his son) did dabble with early radio. The factory was in Chicago. I have old stationary. Beyond that, I know little about the business.

: Hey, guys.
I live in the old Beckley-Ralston building at 1801 S Michigan Ave in Chicago. I have a photo of the building from 1905 that shows some of the automobile stuff that they sold - stocked in the front window. I know little else about them, but I would like to know more.

I have an old brass advertisement sign, about 6x10 inches. It got "The Beckley-Ralston Co., Chicago" in the corners, and "for a better running motor, use the Belvidere" at top. "a plug for every motor" on sides, and "Agency for Belvidere spark plugs Motor supplies" along bottom edge. In center, there are pictures and details of 7 different spark plugs, with their part numbers. Looks like something me uncle (deceased) had hanging in his workshop. Would be curious to know if there are any collectors of this type item anywhere, and how to put a value, if any, to it. The plate is done in black background, gold, white print, with red in the B-R logo's.

:I have one receiver circa 1927 with the name Beckley_Ralston on it and one without. There is also a circle with a C and P inside it on both of them. I wonder if some other company made these sets?

I have a Beckley-Ralston chipper. Wooden shaft. Apparently, the company made sporting goods, too.
