I recently purchased a radio in an antique market to restore. It is a Philco model 38-8, a console model. It has a round face with a fan-shaped backlit dial inside of it. It has 4 knobs on the front (although the actual knobs are missing. I have looked on many websites, but I cannot seem to find any pictures, information, etc. on this particular model. Can anyone help? I would appreciate any information you might have. Thanks

According to my 4th edition collector's guide by Bunis, the 38-8 was made in 1938, and is worth around $90 to $100. As far as knobs go, your best bet might be to contact Antique Electronic Supply at http://www.tubesandmore.com They do carry some of the earlier style Philco knobs, and some other generics that might look Ok. I think most of the knobs in the mid 30's were simple round ones, like the AES P-K181 or P-K209. No ideas on where to find a picture though.
