Philco Model 38-10 Floorstanding model: What are the Dials?
10/27/2001 4:27:54 PMTim Wochomurka
If anyone could help me, that would be great. i recently aquired a Philco Model 38-10 (floorstanding)and it is currently missing the dials. If anyone who has this model (it is the same as the table top art deco model, just larger) or has any clue about the dials, please email me what they are. It is becoming very hard to use it without knocking the frequency off. Thank you!

Tim,

I am not sure what "dials" you refer to are, but if you are refering to missing the knobs, then I know what functions they perform as I have one of these sets.

The tuning knob is directly below the dial scale. This is a concentric shaft, with the innermost rod being a fine tuning control and the outer one a course (or fast) tuning control.

Below that is a row of three controls, the left one is a combination power and tone control OFF/ON (mid tone)/ON (bass tone), the middle control is the band select AM (counterclockwise)/SW (clockwise), the right control is the volume.
