Hi Rick

Philco 38-7 has a 6F6G output tube, This tube was made to operate into a 7000 ohm impedance. This is not the same as DC resistance. The secondary should match the speaker, 8 ohms.

AES, tubesandmore, com , sells P-T291 which is an universal output transformer. It will work in your Philco. Play Things of Past, oldradioparts.com , should have a transformer at a better price.
