Clarion Jr. Cabinet

I've come across a Clarion Jr. Cabinet only at a yard sale. It's in pretty good shape, a piece of veneer off at the top edge and the usual scratches. I've never even heard of them. Are these common or did I blow my money? My main interest is old phones and I was buying some phones before the sale when I spotted it. Any info on the make and value of would be appreciated. Its the cabinet only Model AC 60. Thanks for your help in advance. Martin

Hi Martin

You have a cathedral style cabinet made in 1932. If you had the radio the value would be $175 - $200. Veneer can be repaired but finding a chassis may not be as easy.

Hi, I have an AC-60, that was in need of a tuning condensor. I advertized for one on some of the other forums and a guy sent me one for shipping costs. they are very heavy and the filter bock ( a 6" x 6" x 6" block of condensers and filters filled with a type of wax)is prone to overheating and melting out the wax inside. I suspect tinkerers have used them for parts, but my guess is you might with a little work - be able to find a repairable chassis cheap - . DWG

:Dear friends,
I don't know if you will have my message, when i see date creation of yours.
I bought an AC40 cabinet CLARION and it can only receive short waves. I know than it's possible to receive long wave with a sixth lamp but i don't have schematics for that. Have you please that, or do you know how i could get it ?
With all my thanks.
