Zenith radio

When I was much younger my dad had an zenith short wave radio. My older brother destroyed it many years ago (1960 or so). It sparked my interest in ham radio and I am wanting to find one like it. The problem is I don't have the foggiest idea what the model was. I remember it was AC/DC/battery powered, covered AM & CW was in a brown cloth over wood suite case style with the dials on top, used 1 & 3 volt miniature tubes. I would know it if I saw it.

My question is how do I go about chasing the model number down ? Is there a web page that has lots of pictures of Zenith portable SW receivers around ?

If you have read this far I appreciate it, but if you have some ideas where I could start searching I would really like to hear from you.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris

You might want to go to a book store or library and look in the collector sections for books on Zenith radios. I have seen a couple and they were filled with many pictures.

Hope this helps.

Hi Chris

There is a directory of radios on the internet. It will give you the model numbers but you will still have to click on each to see the picture.
