Here's a quick ?...

Usually on the back of my radios I find an "A" post for antenna attchment and a "G" post for earth ground, but I've now found a "Z" post on my 1938 Zenith. This might be a dumb question, but what is this for?

I looked through some Zenith information, although most radios had the "Z" terminal in 1938, this terminal wasn't mentioned.

A long wire antenna would be connected to "A" and the "G" and "Z" shorted together. If you use a balanced antenna, the jumper would be removed and antenna connected between "A" and "Z".
