Information I find on Pfanstiehl mentions the company went out of business in 1930. (Radio Manufacturers of the 1920's & Collectors Guide to Antique Radios) Your radio is from around 1934.
Carl Pfanstiehl died in March 1942. He may have built some radios after the company closed.
Radio Manufacturers of the 1920's mentions that Fansteel Company, spelled with letter "F", still makes electrical components.

: Hi James, Thanks for the information on your Pfanstiehl radio. Although it has a beat frequency oscillator that will let it demodulate Single Sideband, in 1934 this hadn't been developed, the BFO would be for Morse Code. It sounds like a very collectible set. It obviosly is designed for Ham bands with those coils and BFO. I found some data on Pfanstiehl the other day but can't see it now. If I find anything that matches your set I'll send it to you. There is no mention of Pfanstiehl in the advertising section of a 1936 ARRL handbook I've got. Don Black.
