RCA Model 118 Tombstone- Speaker Problems
12/20/1997 4:14:20 PMSteve Larson
Number stamped on speaker - RL614

1) Where can I find replacement cones?
2) What could be causing a solid rattling sound- no music/ no voice - just loud rattle/buzz sound?

Also, I have forgotten how the three wire hook up was origionally. Any hints on determining which wire goes where?

Thanks

1) check in your local large yellow pages for speaker
mfg's or repariers. I know here I can find a few in the
book.
2) I have a 118 Philco, it too had the same fate. It
was due to every electrolytic cap being open. I cut all
the cans open and replaced them with new electrolytics
thereby keeping the original appearance.

3)My schematic says blue/wht+green/white electromagnet
the others no color. I assume large ones are for DC. You can
check this by ohming out the pins on the chassis. The low ohms
are the voice coil. If you need a schematic let me know.
I can email one to you. good luck Tom
