I am trying to find out any info on the curtis mathes stereo I bought at a garage sale. It worked when I bought it but now it appears to have a bad tube. I have been calling around to find replacement tubes but I have had no luck. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

These tubes are available, and are also known as a EZ81,they are getting hard to find, as they are common in 60's audio equipment and are no longer made it seems. They only fail very rarely, make sure that you filter caps havn't shorted due to age, that will blow the rectifier tube, and cause any new tube to fail as well. Anytime you find a blown rectifier, check the filter caps!. Make sure the plates don't glow red on the new tube! It would be a pity to fry a new EZ-81, they are in short enough supply already.
Antique Electronic supply probably has the tube you need. (www.tubesandmore.com)
