Philco 51-930 Schematic and Resistor.
4/15/1999 10:45:36 PMDavid H
Philco 51-930 has a 5K ohm resistor in it. It looks like it may be a 5 Watt power resistor but will not operate when replaced. Resistor measures 5K Ohms and is a carbon type but the ends are loose and will not last much longer. What is it. Feeds the 7A8 tube.
System also has many other resistors in bad shape. A schematic with values would be very helpful.

Hi David

The schematic of the Philco 51-930 is in Rider #21 and Sams Photofact #153. These may be available from your local library. I will send you a schematic from Rider but the values are hard to read. Do not see any resistor marked 5K. If you have a power resistor with voltage on one side and nothing on the other, there may be a capacitor shorted to ground on the side without voltage.
