By having 50-70 volts on the 71A filaments you have negative bias on the grid. Bias if the difference between grid and filament on your output tubes.
50 to 70 volts may be too much. Usually I find closer to 40 volts. There is a flat, 2 section, wire wound, resistor above the power supply. Be sure this resistor isn't open.
Also check continuity of audio interstage transformers. These often open. A radio may still operate but distort if the grid winding is open.

: I am not getting any grid bias on the tubes and the ones that i do have a positive voltage instead of a negative. like 3 volts on one of the audio tubes.
: I went through the power supply and replaced the filter caps and rechecked everything and it looks good, I get like 50 to 70 volts positive bios on the filaments but nothing on the grid's.
: the radio plays but sounds distorted.
: Can someone tell me why?
