Hi Carl, they do that to add some suspense to the show. They are a great bunch of guys and a hoot to be around. They really do great work. I've seen many things they have restored and it is amazing what they can pull off. The production company filmed for close to 4 hours with me to get that bit of film they showed. Take Care, George T

George, It's pretty cool you hooked up with the restoration guys. I am always amazed at the talent there to re-create and restore stuff. I missed your part (flipping between the ball game), hopefully will catch it on the rerun.
I saw the part about the tube chase, and had a laugh (just go online and order one!) but realize they have to put some 'entertainment' into the show so it doesn't become a boring documentary for the average viewer on restoration...much like the Pawn Stars spice up their show with the family stuff.
Keep us posted on future stuff coming up.

Hi Brian, it is funny they make a tube look like it is hard to get, your right though I could email my buddy Walt and get several in a couple days. I didn't know about the place they went to to find the tube so I looked it up on line last night. I'm going to have to go there. They have an up coming action and have probably 50 old radios on the auction block. You can bid on line. They have around 10 super nice radios (rare) I want to go by and check them out I bet they will be cheap, people out here sell more than collect that way they can feed the slot machines.LOL We filmed that in January and they still have the same radios coming up for auction Sept 19, 20, 21. Check it out at www.vcaauction.com Best 2 U, George T

Hi George,

Hmm. I don't know, you must be mistaken. Rick restored the set, while Leonard found the correct tube without even having the number. Sending out 3 employees to search for a tube without a number must be
how the price of the Grebe went over $4000. At least you got credit for testing one bad tube.
