Dewald Model 54 Resistor or Capacitor ?

Rider 3-6; With help from "NA" radio working,but the 280 ohm resistor had to be replaced. Very small radio lots of heat. Did I read somewhere that a capacitor could be used instead of resistor in this case, if so what am I looking at,any other ideas??

Yes you can replace the 280 ohm resistor by a capacitor. Read this article.

Think I'll just replace with another resistor, back in the 50's if the average kid could add & subtract in High school you where doing good. This math is over my head!!!
