Zenith 8A02
4/10/1999 1:30:05 AMDeb
I recently got my grandfather's old Zenith radio. The only two numbers I see on it are the chassis number 8A02 and the serial number S935888. Can anyone tell me how old it is? Is there a schematic available for it? How do I safely strip the finish off without destroying the veneer? Someone put a sloppy coat of varnish on it that must come off but I'm affraid of doing more harm than good. Any help and guidance would be great. Thanks Deb

Hi Deb

Here is some information from Collectors Guide to Antique Radios, CD. The radio is an 8 tube model made in 1941. The schematic is in Rider volume #12. The chassis, 8A05 was used in the following models: 8S531, 8S548 and 8S563.

I'll email you the schematic.
