defective TUNE/BATT meter

I have a Panasonic radio model RF-1060. My TUNE/BATT meter RSM 2602D doesn't deflect in either position, TUNE or BATT. I disconnected one of the wires and measured open across the meter. Defective right? I should get some resistance right? So knowing it's defective anyone know where I can get one?

Hi Philip, outside of searching the internet you might be able to find a decent one on Ebay, (Midcentury Radio). To use for parts, have had to resort to that in the past. Best 2 U, George T

Very likely the meter coil has opened up. These are virtually un-repairable by mere mortals but I think that I would try taking the thing apart on the faint hope that something simple like a corroded/poorly soldered internal connection could be found. If not, finding an identical-model junk radio with a working meter might be your best hope. In the best of times (i.e., when the set was manufactured) OEM piece parts for Japanese radios were almost impossible to come by.
